Last September we shared some photos and information about an Eagle Nest Log Homes Cabin being built on Crystal Lake near Akeley, Minnesota; and we thought you’d like to see the finished result. This building is a year-round cabin that is replacing an old family summer-only cabin that was torn down. The owner, Ken P., lives near Boise, ID, but grew up spending summers and fall hunting trips in northern Minnesota. As he approaches retirement, he wants to be able to spend more time at this cabin. Ken says the beauty, affordability, and efficiency of our log cabins were big factors in his choosing Eagle Nest Log Homes. He bought the logs from us and hired a local builder to erect and finish the building. The log work was finished in a couple weeks (the builder had other projects going at the same time, so didn’t have a full crew on site every day). Last fall they put a roof on, hung windows and doors, and caulked and stained the outside so it was weatherproof – and then they finished it over the winter and this spring. The logs for this project cost $16,000 plus freight.
